TRUCK PARKING!!!!!!! Secure Semi Truck, Trailer & Fleet Parking – Riggy’s
Well its on all our minds, or atleast it is when our day ends each day. Finding a place to park and shut down at the end of our shift. A place we can park that is safe, accessible to a clean bathroom, some where we can get a shower, and maybe some food, or just a place to relax.
Well I’ve been seeing more and more pay to park places popping up on all the social media platforms. Advertising their accessible facilities for truckers. A few I feel are exploiting truckers and companies and a few are genuinley on the up and up.
The problem I see out here and I wont mention names YOU know who you are, are the company that takes free parking spaces that are already availible to drivers and turns them into paid locations and pushes out drivers that would normally stay at these locations. All that does is drive down the companies business and its sales. Because drivers wont fuel there or buy the products in the facility that they have always purchesed. So these places need to weigh the pros and cons, are you making money anymore on your fuel and store sales or are you trying to bank it on paid parking that was free previously?
Now I have come across a paid parking program and its been out for a while but, only a few locations in just a couple areas. Before I mention the name of this company I’ll give you quick once over. They have a SECURE facility that is safe, fenced in, razor wire on top, thermo motion sensor camers, gated with a passcode only you have thru the app for this company. So everyone doesn’t have the same pin number they share around. They have hourly parking, nightly, monthly, and yearly terms. I believe 25 dollars a day or 2 bucks an hour. They DO NOT HAVE FUEL! It is a secured parking area, but they do have FREE SHOWERS, LAUNDRY, and a Drivers lounge with 65 in TV’s and WI-FI.
The name of this company is RIGGY’S, located out of Katy, Texas. They have 6 locations so far, Houston, San Antonio, 2 in Katy, Hutchins, and a location in Memphis, TN.
I don’t want you to think I’m advertising this for this company but in my opinion it looks like they have a niche that should go a long way in this business. I have a call in with the co-founder to see if we can get a interview with him and let him tell there story on the truck parking dilemia they are trying to fill.
